Price changes and approvals

A subscription's price is locked when you approve it. If a price changed since, the app warns you before you re-subscribe - never a surprise on the invoice.

Shopify locks a subscription's price at the moment you approve it. That means a price change never applies to you retroactively - you keep paying what you approved until a new subscription replaces the old one.

When your price can change

Your monthly charge only changes when a new subscription is created and you approve it. That happens when you change plan, or add or remove an add-on - because Shopify rebuilds the whole subscription at current prices. Simply having a plan or add-on does not re-price it on its own.

Because a change rebuilds the whole subscription, anything whose price moved since you first subscribed is re-priced too - not only the thing you changed.

The heads-up before checkout

So a raise never lands unseen, the app shows you the new monthly total before it sends you to Shopify, and names anything whose price changed since you subscribed - for example, a Reviews add-on going from seven to nine ninety-nine. You see it, then choose to continue or cancel.
