Sharing, and what the reports tell you

A shared list is free traffic from people who have never visited you - and the saved-items report is the demand signal you get before a markdown, not after.

Sharing

A shopper can turn their list into a link and send it to someone - the gift-hint case, and the reason wishlists bring in visitors who have never heard of you. The link is read-only: no remove buttons, no controls, and nothing identifying whose list it is.

It is off until the shopper asks for it, and they can withdraw it - the same link is handed back if they ask again, so an existing one is never silently broken. You can turn sharing off for your whole store, which withdraws every link already sent.

Most saved

Your products ranked by how many people are waiting on them. This is not a best-seller list read backwards - it counts intent that has NOT converted, which is exactly the part sales data cannot see. Read it before you decide what to feature, restock or mark down.

Saved sizes

The same items grouped by size across the whole catalogue, ignoring anything bought. If one size keeps topping it, you are under-buying it - and unlike the Back in Stock version of this report, these are sizes still in stock that people are hesitating over.

Did it work

Three numbers make the funnel: saved, moved to cart, bought - with the order value against the last one. Moving to cart is recorded from the wishlist page itself, because Shopify does not tell an app that a cart changed; without it the only measurable outcome would be a purchase, which undercounts the feature badly.

An item is not removed when it is bought. Someone who buys one of two saved colours still wants the other, and a list that empties itself at checkout is a list shoppers stop trusting.
